I have a PhD in history, spent years as a professor teaching field-based courses around the Lake Superior watershed, and have been traveling this shoreline personally for even longer than that.
None of that is really the point, though. The point is that I've spent a long time learning to notice the connections between the geology, history, and ecology of this particular lake — and I'd rather hand that noticing to you than keep it to myself.

Does this only work for the official Circle Tour?
Not at all. While the Circle Tour is the most common route I review, this works for any Lake Superior or Northern Great Lakes road trip — a shorter loop, a one-way route, a trip that only covers part of the shoreline, or a journey that wanders beyond the lake itself into the broader Northwoods. Send whatever you've planned, wherever it goes.
I already planned my own trip. Do I actually need this?
You don't need it the way you need lodging or gas money. This is for the traveler who's put in the work and wants a knowledgeable check before hitting the road — not someone who thinks their planning failed. Most of what I flag isn't correcting a mistake. It's adding a layer you wouldn't have had access to on your own.
How is this different from your guides and ebook?
The guides teach you to read the landscape in general. This applies that lens to your specific route — your towns, your days, your stops. It's the difference between a field guide and someone looking at your actual map.
What if my itinerary is still pretty rough?
That's fine. A rough draft is enough to work from — I'll flag what's underdeveloped along with everything else.
